Dr. Decontee Jimmeh, M.D. or “Dr. Dee” as she is affectionately known, is the oldest daughter of Liberia, West African parents. Although born in Syracuse, NY, she considers herself a “Southern Gal” since she was raised in Tuskegee, Alabama. Dr. Dee is a summa cum laude graduate of Xavier University of Louisiana. She went on to receive her medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine. After completing her Neurology residency and Clinical Neurophysiology fellowship at University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), she became an assistant professor of Neurology at The University of Iowa. Later, she returned to Alabama where she is now a community neurologist and owner of Dr. Dee Neurology Consulting LLC. Currently, she has active memberships in professional and civic organizations, such as American Academy of Neurology, National Medical Association and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. Her proudest accomplishment is being the mother of a kind, intelligent and handsome 6-year old son named Aaron Michael. He is her main motivation for scaling back on clinical duties. Her hobbies include traveling, listening to live music and enjoying exotic cuisines.
